Section 1 - Purpose

(1) The purpose of this document is to act as a placeholder for the Charles Sturt University Act 1989 No 76 and the Charles Sturt University By-law 2005.

Section 3 - Policy

(3) The Act establishes the University as a corporate entity and prescribes the membership, powers and functions of its governing body, the University Council, as well as dealing with other statutory functions.

(4) The By-law is made under the Act and primarily deals with processes associated with the membership of the University Council and the making of rules.

(5) The Charles Sturt University Act 1989 No 76 and the Charles Sturt University By-law 2005 can be accessed through the NSW Legislation site of the Parliamentary Counsel's Office.
