(1) This Rule is the Residential College Affiliation Rule. (2) The current version of this Rule commences 13 November 2023. (3) This Rule sets out Charles Sturt University's (the University’s) rule for the affiliation of residential colleges. (4) This Rule is made under the authority granted to the University Council (Council) under sections 21, 31 and 32 of the Charles Sturt University Act 1989. (5) The Council may establish or assist in the establishment of residential colleges or halls of residences. (6) The Council may grant affiliation to a residential college or hall of residence, subject to the provisions of this Rule and upon such as conditions as it may determine. (7) The Council will approve the constitution of a residential college or hall of residence seeking affiliation with the University. (8) The constitution of each residential college or hall of residence will prescribe what persons may be admitted to residence in the residential college or hall of residence. (9) The constitution of each residential college or hall of residence will include a provision for one member of the governing body of the residential college or hall of residence to be a person nominated by the Council for a term nominated by the Council. (10) The constitution of an affiliated residential college or hall of residence will not be amended without the prior approval of the Council. (11) Where the Council is of the opinion there may have been a contravention of any of the provisions of this Rule or any of the conditions upon which affiliation with the residential college or hall of residence was granted, the Council may give notice in writing to the governing body of the residential college or hall of residence: (12) Where the Council: (13) Nil.
