Summary of Changes from Previous Version

August 2024 - Minor change to clauses 20-23 approved under delegation A8, to provide for the use of preferred names.


October 2023 - Minor changes approved under delegation A8: provisions to allow more than one testamur to be issued; change to approvals for replacement testamurs for administrative errors; presentation of aegrotat or posthumous awards by private ceremony.


August 2023 - Minor/editorial amendment to clause 19 to better reflect HESF standards, approved under delegation A8.


June 2023 – Minor edits under delegation A8 to reflect changes in conferral process. Provisions for withholding awards removed (previously clause 19) and are now transitional arrangements (new clause 94).


June 2023 – Addendum added to Part B to provide additional provisions for course titles on testamurs; addendum approved by University Secretary under delegation E34.


March 2023 - Minor amendments approved under delegation A8; updates to align with current University terminology, system changes and graduation ceremony timelines and arrangements.


June 2022 - Minor changes submitted for approval in accordance with delegation A8 (authority to approve governance procedures). Edits to allow discretion to accept late applications to graduate, amend the period for applications to graduate with optional sequences, update change of name process, and to provide links to documents that provision honorary award and non-award certification.


February 2022 – Minor changes to clarify timelines for application to graduate within articulated courses, names that may be used on testamurs and arrangements for posting testamurs . Approved in accordance with delegation A8 (authority to approved governance procedures).


November 2021 - This is the first version of the Conferral and Graduation Procedure to be published in the policy library, approved in accordance with delegation A8 (authority to approved governance procedures).
