(1) This Rule is the Governance (Chancellor's Committee) Rule 2012. (2) This Rule commences on 24 July 2012 [CNL12/10]. (3) This Rule is enacted to establish the Chancellor's Committee. (4) This Rule is made pursuant to authority granted to the Council under clause 4 of Schedule 1 of the Act, section 20 and 32 of the Act. (5) Notes: (6) In this Rule: (7) The notes in the text of this Rule do not form part of this Rule. (8) Headings do not form part of this Rule. (9) There is a Chancellor's Committee. (10) The Committee shall exercise the following functions for and on behalf of the Council, and in the name of the Council, in accordance with the Rules, policies and procedures of the the University: (11) A member of the Committee may: (12) Where a motion is carried under clause 15a, or moved under clause 15b, the matter shall be referred to the next meeting of the Council. (13) Despite clause 14a, the Committee may not exercise the following functions of the Council: (14) The Committee shall exercise such other functions as may be conferred on the Committee by a resolution of the Council (including a function delegated to the Committee as a standing delegation). (15) In exercising the functions of the Council, the Committee may: (16) The Committee has such other functions as may be necessary to enable it to exercise the functions specified in clause 14 to 19. (17) The membership of the Committee shall be: (18) The Committee shall meet together at least once each year. (19) Ordinary meetings of the Committee will be by flying minute in accordance with the Governance (Conduct of Meetings) Rule 2007.Governance (Chancellor's Committee) Rule 2012 No.1

Clause 4 of Schedule 1 of the Act states that the Council may establish committees to assist it in the exercise of its functions and may delegate to the Committee, under section 20 of the Act, all or any of its functions. Section 32 of the Act states that the Council may make rules with respect to the functions, processes and procedures of committees of the Council.
