A comprehensive review of the Governance (Academic Senate) Rule was undertaken in consideration of the recommendations made by Emeritus Professor Hilary Winchester under an external independent review of the University academic governance and processes (including the Academic Senate). The Governance (Academic Senate) Rule 2018 has been developed in aligning with the intent of Professor Winchester's recommendations. The Rule has been developed in consultation with the current Presiding Officer, Academic Senate, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Vice-Chancellor, University Secretary and Academic Secretary. The Governance (Academic Senate) Rule 2018 was approved by the University Council (CNL 18/113) in accordance with delegations on 19 December 2018 for enactment on 1 January 2019.Governance (Academic Senate) Rule 2018
