Summary of Changes from Previous Version

The Unit Head field has been updated from the Executive Director, Human Resources to the Director, HR Partnerships, to align with current structure.


This is the first version of this document to be published in the CSU Policy Library. For all intents and purposes, this version is reflective of the existing version that was published in the relevant manual (academic or administration) at the time the CSU Policy Library was launched. The document has been subjected to reformatting, including the application of a new numbering system and title.



The following information details the history of changes to the document prior to its publication via the CSU Policy Library:



29/8/2006 - Sub-clause 6.4 - advertising on HR’s web page added.

30/8/2007 - Sub-clause 4.6 - replaced “Standing Committee of Council” with “Vice-Chancellor”. Sub-clause 6.2 - advertising schedule now discretionary rather than compulsory. Sub-clause 6.3 - amended to reflect greater use of web-based recruitment. Sub-clause 11.1 - amended to reflect appointment on the basis of relative merit. Sub-clause 16.2 - new clause to reflect choice of agreement making via offering of an AWA. Sub-clause 21.2 - amended to strengthen the action if qualifications are not produced or are not correct.

1/7/2010 - Major review of procedure in line with University Recruitment Review recommendations 2009.

21/8/2012 - Dean replaced by Executive Dean.


March 2020 “Division of Human Resources changed to Division of People and Culture”.
