Academic Senate - Academic Senate Audit Committee - Membership and Terms of Reference

Section 1 - Membership

(1) The Academic Senate Audit Committee shall comprise:

  1. Presiding Officer, Academic Senate;
  2. Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic);
  3. Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Students);
  4. Deputy Presiding Officer, Academic Senate;
  5. one postgraduate student, nominated by the Academic Senate;
  6. members, nominated by the Vice-Chancellor, who are external to Charles Sturt University (the University).

(2) The Executive Officer (Academic Senate), or nominee, shall be secretary to the Committee.

(3) The Presiding Officer of the Committee will be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor from amongst the members, nominated by the Vice-Chancellor, who are external to the University.

Section 2 - Terms of Reference

(4) The role of the Academic Senate Audit Committee is to audit the practices and operation of the Academic Senate in conducting its business as the principal academic body of the University.

(5) The results of the audit, including recommendations for changes to the structure and/or functions of the Academic Senate will be presented to the Academic Senate for consideration. Recommendations for changes to the structure and functions of the Academic Senate will be referred by Academic Senate to the University Council for approval.

(6) Such audits are to be conducted on a five yearly basis.
