Summary of Changes from Previous Version

November 2023 - The Assessment Policy suite has undergone its scheduled review and is approved under delegation A11. Changes to this procedure include:



  1. Detailed information about special consideration, including what special consideration is available for, moved from policy to procedure.

  2. Special consideration approval authority information consolidated as a table.

  3. Special consideration application information simplified. d. Evidence requirement for ‘signed’ medical certificate changed to ‘authorised’ medical certificate, to support NSW Virtual Care/telehealth processes.

  4. Deferred exam information moved from policy to procedure.

  5. Examples of unexpected, unavailable commitments expanded to include severe weather and natural disasters, and examples that are not unexpected or unavoidable to include holidays.

  6. Reasonable adjustment provisions extended to carers, for better alignment with obligations under the Carer Recognition Act 2010.
