Summary of Changes from Previous Version

This is the first version of this document to be published in the CSU Policy Library. For all intents and purposes, this version is reflective of the existing version that was published in the relevant manual (academic or administration) at the time the CSU Policy Library was launched. The document has been subjected to reformatting, including the application of a new numbering system and title.


The following information details the history of changes to the document prior to its publication via the CSU Policy Library:

Establishment - The Academic Senate, in adopting the Academic Regulations on 24 September 1991, (AS 91/140) accepted the notion of Faculty Assessment Committees. The Academic Senate amended the membership on 18.8.99, AS 99/100.

Membership (As approved by Academic Senate on 18 August 1999, AS 99/100)

-The Arts Assessment Committee has been varied to include the following positions: Sub-Dean of Psychology (27.10.99, AS 99/150), Associate Dean (AS 07/25 on 2.5.07).

-The Education Assessment Committee, as approved by Academic Senate on 7.4.04 (AS 04/25), 8.12.04 (AS 04/138), 9.8.06 (AS 06/80), 2.5.07 (AS 07/30), 13.2.08 (AS 08/12), 23.9.09 (AS 09/157), 2.12.09 (AS 09/184), 22.9.10 (AS 10/132), 18.5.11 (AS 11/66), 16.5.12 (AS 12/31) and 18.9.13 (AS 13/125). The Education Assessment Committee has been varied to include the following positions: Director, Centre for Indigenous Studies (AS 07/30 on 2.5.07); those Associate Deans of the Faculty that the Education Faculty Assessment Committee deems appropriate (AS 11/66 on 18 May 2011); those Associate Heads of School from the Schools of the Faculty that the Education Faculty Assessment Committee deems appropriate (AS 11/66 on 18 May 2011); the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Division of Student Learning, or nominee (AS 13/125 on 18 September 2013); the Director, Academic Support, or nominee (AS 13/125 on 18 September 2013); and the Sub-Dean Learning and Teaching was granted right of audience and debate (AS 12/31 on 16 May 2012.

-The Business Assessment Committee, as approved by Academic Senate on 5.10.05 (AS 05/117), 2.12.09 (AS 09/182, 21.9.11 (AS 11/127), 16 May 2012 (AS 12/29), 17 July 2013 (AS 13/92) and 18 September 2013 (AS 13/123).

-The Science Assessment Committee, as approved by Academic Senate on 2.5.07 (AS 07/32), 27.5.09 (AS 09/77), 5.8.09 (AS 09/124) and 1.12.10 (AS 10/167). Include the Associate Dean in the membership of the Committee (AS 07/32 on 2.5.07). Include the Sub-Dean (Learning and Teaching) in the membership of the Committee (AS 07/32 on 2.5.07).
