Summary of Changes from Previous Version

September 2021 – Editorial changes to update links to delegation schedules, approved in accordance with delegation A13. A copy of this document prior to the change has been captured in the University records management system.


May 2021 - Minor changes approved in accordance with delegation GOV9, resolution AS169/10, including: - scope added to align with other academic policies - updated position titles and organisational unit names to reflect current structure - updated terminology to reflect current University practice (e.g. 'session' - 'teaching period'; 'at risk' - 'not making satisfactory progress'; - review/appeals process removed to refer to the University Student Appeals Policy - some text revisions to improve clarity.


December 2020 - Minor change to clause 65 with provision for students to provide their Unique Student Identifier, required under changes to the Higher Education Support Act approved in accordance with GOV9. Editorial changes to clauses 15, 29 and 73 in accordance with GOV10B.


December 2020 – Editorial changes in accordance with GOV10B: Placeholder updates: Admissions – Entry requirements procedures replacing Schedule 1 & 2 Entry requirements; references to Director, Research updated to Dean, Graduate Studies.


November 2020 – Editorial changes in accordance with GOV10B: links to academic governance policies updated and glossary term for ‘elite athlete or performer’ amended to align with Assessment Policy. A copy of this document prior to these changes has been captured in the University’s records management system.


August 2020 – Reference to ‘Vocational and International Compliance Committee’ updated to ‘International and Partnerships Committee’.


January 2020 – This revision of the Admissions Policy is a major review of the previous version and an output of the Academic Governance Review Project. Procedural information has been moved to the Admissions Procedure. This policy was approved by Academic Senate at its meeting on July 3, 2019 (resolution AS 19/65) in accordance with delegation schedule 1 GOV 9.
