Summary of Changes from Previous Version

The Unit Head field has been updated from the Executive Director, Human Resources to the Director Culture, Capability and Wellbeing to align with current structure.


This is the first version of this document to be published in the CSU Policy Library. For all intents and purposes, this version is reflective of the existing version that was published in the relevant manual (academic or administration) at the time the CSU Policy Library was launched. The document has been subjected to reformatting, including the application of a new numbering system and title.



The following information details the history of changes to the document prior to its publication via the CSU Policy Library:



28/8/2003 - References amended within document from Performance Development Framework to Professional Development Framework.



1/12/2003 - Guidelines updated for commencement of program on 1/12/2003.



4/6/2004 - Amendment to include Casual and Partner staff from 1/7/2004 and mentoring statement.



1/7/2005 - Review of guidelines to simplify and reduce redundancy following program evaluation and review (March 2005). Changed period for completion of objective-setting session from 4 to 6 weeks.



16/12/2005 - Reformatted into the new CSU style. Clause 3 - definitions added.

Sub-clause 4.4 - integrated academic induction and teaching development program added. Appendices 1-3 - checklists, Individual Development Plan template and Skills and Knowledge Requirements template added.



29/8/2007 - “Strategic goals” replaced by “key objectives”. Sub-clause 4.4 - “strongly encouraged” replaced by “required”. Checklist for Planning a Work-Based Program - “goals’ replaced by “objectives”. Checklist 2 - “stress” deleted and “difficulties” inserted. Checklist 5 - “goals’ replaced by “objectives”; “triennial plans” replaced by “operational plans”.



3/8/2012 - Dean replaced by Executive Dean.


March 2020 “Division of Human Resources changed to Division of People and Culture”.
