Summary of Changes from Previous Version

October 2021 – This document is rescinded and replaced by the Appointments Procedure - Recruitment and Selection.


March 2021 – Editorial change to clause 26 to update terms, made in accordance with delegation GOV10B. A copy of this document prior to the change has been captured in the University records management system.


February 2021- Full review completed and approved under GOV 10. Changes to this Procedure have been recommended to align with current practice and to create flexibility to ensure the University attracts and appoints the best talent possible for its vacancies. Part C refers to selection committees - the aim of this change is to encourage diversity of membership on the panel and be able to engage key stakeholders into the recruitment and selection process. Part D - Responsibilities of Selection Committee members - the aim of these changes to procedure is to create greater awareness and accountability. Part F - Recommendation for Appointment - This is to allow the negotiation of employment terms to be authorised and the appointment of appropriate talent without undue burden of policy/procedure. Part G - Eligibility Lists, Part K - Non-resident Appointments - the aim of these changes to the procedure is clarity Part L - Interview Expenses and Assistance with Relocation, Part M - Transfer and Reappointment - the aim of these changes to the procedure is clarity and alignment to current practice
