The following information details the history of changes to the document prior to its publication via the CSU Policy Library:
19/12/2003
18/11/2005 - Policy separated into a policy and procedure, reformatted into the CSU style and made HEWRRs compliant. Clause 7 – Appeals Against Procedures Committee deleted. University Secretary now determines whether or not a Promotion Committee should reconsider an application for promotion.
15/6/2006 - Slight change in committee names for consistency between documents.
15/5/2007 - Sub-clause 3.2 – performance requirements and Generic Responsibilities added to eligibility conditions. 6.4 – VC approves professorial appointments instead of making recommendations to the University Council.
28/8/2007 - Sub-clause 4.3 – “University Council” replaced by “Vice-Chancellor”.
Sub-clause 8.2 – “appeal” replaced by “review”.
6/3/2009 - Subclause 2.2 – Teaching/Professional work activity function added.
15/2/2010 - Subclause 2.2 – Inclusion of institutional leadership as a basis for promotion. Subclause 3.2- removal of sentence “there are no unresolved issues in relation to the Generic Responsibilities of CSU staff as this is inherent in meeting expectations [previous clause].
5/3/2012 - Clause 3.2 updated to refer to the Performance Management and Development Scheme. Removed reference to “meets or exceeds requirements”.
Other minor editorial changes as required for consistency between all Academic Promotions documentation. Changed to new CSU policy format.
6/8/2012 - Dean replaced by Executive Dean.
